Inspiration
Back in the medieval times, in the Irish village of Ballyvourney, Saint Gobnait dedicated her life to help the sick, supposedly using bee’s honey to heal many under her care. So, it is not surprising that Gobnait added beekeeping to her life’s work developing a lifelong affinity with them. We draw our inspiration from Saint Gobnait, the patron of bees and beekeeping, to help heal humanity.
Introduction
- Gobnait is a Sri Lankan Based organization that produces 100% pure raw Bee Honey.
- We produce bee honey that has been extracted locally from bee keepers, Indigenous people (Vadda’s) of Sri Lanka and from harvesting through different social projects conducted by us to low-income families and through social groups and companies.
- As our secondary step we intend to have our own harvesting from our own apiaries and build the population of bees. Company will invest on Bee Boxes that will be placed in all parts of the country and encourage bee keeping and its concepts which will build value and respect to nature and develop honest harvesting and selling among people. The project will bring an honest income to the bee keepers and will add value to the efforts of building fair trade from the point of harvesting to retail selling.
